The Tale of Spiders Prime
Apr. 18th, 2025 07:31 pm- Lady apps TFP Megatron. Everything is good and fine
- I app TFP Optimus when Lady tries to call my bluff
- The first ball event happens and both of them are very normal about it. Megatron shoots Optimus with his fusion cannon
- Megatron attacks CV Megatron, steals the matrix from his chest, and leaves the ship
- Megatron finds the CF version of Unicron and makes an evil pact
- After several telepathic visions happen, the R2 investigates an old Cybertronian city because Megatron is there (and other reasons)
- Optimus & his event Team (Team Can't Throw a Punch) examine a high tech science lab. In the lab is a terrarium full of spiders and something valuable I think
- Optimus goes to grab the valuable thing but fails a dex roll and gets covered in spiders
- Lady offers us all cool items, I mention it would be cool to have an item that commands the spiders. However I decide to do the practical thing and take a giant shield
- The item I asked for but did not take wound up in the possession of CV Optimus who was being controlled by Unicron. CV Op uses it to create a duplicate of himself out of bugs (Slither)
- The crew defeats Megatron's crystal effigy. Lady graciously gives me the orb that controls spiders (and other bugs). It is affectionately named the sporb (spider orb).
- OP loses his memory of being a prime and reverts to Orion Pax. This isn't important.
- OP adopts the spiders and makes them a nice terrarium on the ship.
- Fast forward, OP joins Quintessa and others to visit a magic interdimensional library. They meet a nice panda who becomes OP's friend
- The team meets The Mother of Threads, an insectkin goddess of death. She restores his memories of being Optimus
- Fast forward more, the crew goes to a planet for various reasons. OP leads a team to infiltrate a prison and find a dragon lady who has something important. OP brings the sporb and can make a spider copy of himself (a la Slither).
- The team runs into the panda friend who is also looking for the dragon lady. This is not important.
- The team finds the dragon lady and frees her from her cell after fighting a giant fungus creature.
- Panda friend reveals himself to be a slaverlord and this is all a TRAP. No one suspected this (Soundwave did).
- The other slaverlords show up along with the dragon lady’s city speaker girlfriend, who BETRAYS us for reasons. Combat happens.
- Soundwave is killed and Quintessa brings him back to life with a magic wish but now he is a vampire. This isn’t important.
- The city speaker sets up a bunch of turrets, one of which kills OP. It is very anticlimactic. Unfortunately, OP kind of needs to be alive for the Megatron part.
- The Mother of Threads intervenes because OP is helping protect the insectkin homeworld from Megatron. She transfers his soul/spark/it wasn’t really clear into the sporb.
- OP now exists as his spider duplicate, made of thousands of individual spiders
- Megatron shows up and nat20s himself out of Unicron’s control to commit a dramatic suicide but doesn’t quite manage it. OP kills Megatron. Megatron is about to confess his love to either OP or Soundwave (or both?) but he dies and everyone is left unhappy about it.
- Fast forward. The team goes to a magical girl planet and stuff happens. They meet Amalgamous Prime and he generously makes the spiders cybertronian because he thinks OP being made of organic spiders is kind of gross.
- It is decided that the spiders can individually transform into tiny trucks. This is not plot relevant but IS very important. Also important to note the spiders are all individual beings and when not near the sporb live perfectly normal spider lives in the terrarium OP made them.
- OP continues to be made of spiders until I heartbreakingly decide to drop him after much agonizing over it.
